What do you do? When someone you
love tells you she wants to die?
When you know saying “things will
get better” would be a lie?
When there is nothing you can do
save be there
As for every breath her struggle she
lays bare?
When the pain does not leave her in
peace
She moans even at night as she
sleeps?
When the swollen legs and the cramps
make your hands ache
Nothing you do seems to make her
troubles fade?
When along with her physicality, you
see her personality change
As she copes with the new challenges
that her restrain?
When you can see life slowly out of
her drain
Your words, your actions, your hopes
in vain?
When you join her in wishing for
death
Afraid to kill, to die, to live?
Well, you just take another breath.
